Lost

  • Mood: Winter's here!
  • Music: Green Day

Hello on this dreary, cold, rainy Tuesday morning. It’s a perfect day for sleeping in, but I found myself wide-awake at 8 a.m., isn’t that always the way? I had to pull out my electric heater last night in order to keep warm. Ah, winter is upon us at last. What happened to fall?

First off, here is a gift from me to you. Pick up “Night in Desert Blue” a free futuristic fantasy with romantic elements novella in e-book form here. Enjoy!

I’ve been a bit absent for the past couple of months…too much to do with less time to do it in. Things are finally settling down a little at work. I may find myself with long stretches of time with nothing to do, which is not really good, because I don’t like to be idle or working on my writing while the boss is there. Gone are the days when I had the building mostly to myself, except for a ghost or two and the janitor. I miss it, but, hey, I’m getting a better paycheck, so I can’t complain

My brother bought the entire first season of “Lost” and let me borrow it. Very addictive! And now I have to wait until the second season comes out on CD before I can find out what happens next. I don’t get the channel the show comes on *sniffle*. I’m trying to figure out who my favorite character is.  I think it’s a toss-up between Sun and Syad ßI probably spelled his name wrong. Yes, the Iraqi soldier. In fact, I’d probably feel safer with him on the island than any of the others (I’m pretty sure the network did that on purpose), including Jack, who doesn’t seem to have much confidence in himself. I’d trust John Locke to keep me fed, but then I’d wonder when he was going to knock me in the head and leave me in the jungle…for my own good, of course. Charlie is too high strung and emotional, Sawyer only looks out for himself, Jin is too worried about keeping his wife covered from head to toe in clothing way too hot for the beach, Boone is…well…can’t give away what he is now, Hurley/Hugo has a curse following him around, Claire is pregnant, Shannon is a spoiled snot, Kate is a fugitive whose own mother is terrified of her, Michael has an attitude problem, Walt is a kid, and the French chic is loony…is that all of them? I like Sun because she has quiet strength and can be assertive when the occasion calls for it. At first you get the impression she’s under her husband’s boot heel, but there’s more to her than meets the eye. As for Syad? Well, I’ve never seen him go all dramatic in a crisis. If something needs to be done, he does it. I also think he’s the glue who holds the group together, but he may need Locke’s help to get them off the island…

And that’s basically the sum of what’s been going on in my life since I last wrote. Oh, and I sold “The Ghosts of Daemon Yarborough” to PublishAmerica!  I’ll let you know when it’s available for purchase.

A poem for your reading pleasure: Why Do I Love You?

Until next time!
